See your brain: experts say artificial intelligence or can read the human brain

Japanese scientists have developed an artificial intelligence technology that can read human brains and analyze brain activity to depict images that people see or imagine.

The laboratory of Kyoto University scientist Kamiyakura called three volunteers to perform nuclear magnetic resonance on their brains while they were looking at the images, and then handed over the MRI images to the artificial intelligence system for analysis. By analyzing the brain activity of volunteers, the artificial intelligence system not only restored the owls, airplanes, glass windows, and red postbox images that they saw one pixel at a time, but also restored the squares, crosses, goldfish, and swans that volunteers imagined. Leopards, bowling and other basic images.

Although the images restored by artificial intelligence systems are still somewhat vague and the quality of imaging varies from person to person, the researchers believe that their experiments may open up a “unique window of mind” to visit people and use their brains to scan images to translate people’s imaginations. The relevant research results were published in BioRxiv, a pre-printed website in the life sciences field in the United States. Scientists hope that this technology can be further used to "visit" people's daydreams or to help vegetative people communicate with others.
