Wärtsilä receives orders for Daewoo's 2 pipelaying vessels

Recently, Wärtsilä has announced that it has received a contract to provide ship design and propulsion systems/positioning systems for a series of two flexible pipelaying vessels to be built by Daewoo Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., the French energy company Technip and the Brazilian oil and gas industry company Odebrecht. The joint venture of Óleo & Gás (OOG) will be leased to Petrobras for a long time after completion.
Wärtsilä Ship Design Brazil believes the contract is of great significance. The new boat VS 4146 PLV design is tailored to meet the strict requirements of the shipowner. The new ship has a pipe tension of 550 tons and is designed to optimize fuel consumption and meet flexible pipelaying requirements.
