Wireless networks are characterized by flexibility, mobility, low cost, and ease of installation. In addition to using AP bridges for bridges to form wireless LANs, we can also use its point-to-point transmission characteristics to bridge long distances and connect the entire enterprise. Different wired LANs in different regional departments realize the connection of two or even multiple wired LANs. Different requirements will use different connection methods. Let's talk about several different methods of using wireless bridges to connect multiple wired LANs.
A point-to-point bridging mode
The two offices in the enterprise are not too far away from each other. At the same time, each office has set up its own local area network. Now it is necessary to realize the connection between the two office networks. However, since the middle ground of the two offices is obstructed and inconvenient for wiring, two can be used at this time. The wireless bridges connect them to realize the interconnection and resource sharing between the two wired LANs through wireless, and it also enables the expansion of the wired network. In this way, the network cabling is eliminated, the operation is simple and easy, and at the same time, the cost is saved.
The schematic diagram of the application is shown in Figure 1. Each of the two offices has a LAN: Lan1 and Lan2. The two bridges are A (AP) and B (Client), which are connected using point-to-point bridging mode. Both bridges are connected to switches in the local area network.

To set the wireless bridge, set the two in the same way. Select Bridge Mode from the bridge's management interface and enter the MAC address of the other in the bridge MAC address. Also note that the IP addresses of the two bridges must be on the same network segment and use the same two channels. If the two wireless bridges have encryption, they must be set to be the same.
Second, point-to-multipoint bridging mode
If you want to achieve a wired LAN connection between more than three offices in an enterprise, the dot-to-bridge mode described above is no longer applicable. Instead, you must use a single multi-mode bridge or multiple single-mode bridges. The use of this model eliminates the need for network cabling, and is also less affected by the geographical environment. This enables the interconnection of all LANs within the entire enterprise while saving enterprise costs.
The network structure is shown in Figure 2. The office has its own wired LAN: Lan1, Lan2, and Lan3. Each LAN connects its own wireless bridge: A, B, C, D, where B is a point-to-multipoint. For wireless bridged AP nodes, points A, C, and D are client nodes.

The user can complete the network connection by connecting several wireless bridges to the wired LAN. However, it should be noted that when the point-to-multipoint connection is performed, the wireless antennas used by each bridge become different. The wireless AP in the central location uses an omnidirectional antenna, while other Client nodes use a directional antenna, and the wireless AP is oriented toward the central node to ensure the stability and speed of the communication.
Point-to-multipoint wireless bridge mode All wireless bridge settings are the same, using point-to-multipoint bridging, while other parameters are similar to the point-to-point bridging settings above.
