GAC confirmed that it had received an offer from the Fujian provincial government, but has not yet negotiated.

The reason why GAC is interested in Fuqi is mainly because Mitsubishi Motors, especially after the establishment of GAC Mitsubishi, GAC hopes to be able to unify its Mitsubishi business in China, so as to avoid future differentiation of Mitsubishi products and internal friction. The acquisition of Fuqi can also add an industrial base for GAC in South China.
