The dimethyl carbonate production line of Shaanxi Yunhua Green Energy Co., Ltd. was completed and put into operation recently. The production of dimethyl carbonate as a fine chemical product using carbon dioxide gas was successful. The production line uses the world’s most advanced carbon dioxide and propylene oxide reaction technology to produce propylene carbonate. The propylene carbonate is exchanged with methanol to produce dimethyl carbonate and propylene glycol, turning the carbon dioxide into waste. According to reports, this process is theoretically a green chemical process with 100% molecular utilization. In the entire process of decomposition, 100% carbon reacts without residue. Dimethyl carbonate produced by using carbon dioxide as raw material is a new type of green chemical raw material that is nontoxic, environmentally friendly, and widely used. It has been widely used in medicine, pesticides, synthetic materials, fuels, and electronic chemicals.
