Toyo Rubber Industry Co., Ltd. officially opened its new tire factory in Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, China. It is reported that the plant will focus on the production of passenger car and light truck tires in the future. A total of about 350 guests attended the ceremony, including Hou Fengxia, director of the China Rubber Industry Association, Zhang Jiagang, Mayor of Zhangjiagang City and Director of the Administrative Committee of the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, local representatives, regional representatives, and partners, and Dongyang Tire Zhangjiagang Co., Ltd. 100 related personnel celebrated the completion of the new factory.

In line with the concept of “saving resources, high quality, high productivity, and ease of use”, Toyo Tires Zhangjiagang Co., Ltd. will introduce the latest tire production technology to build new factories that minimize the use of energy and focus on environmental protection. Energy consumption is even better than in Japan. The number of domestic factories is reduced by 30%; in order to achieve high-performance tire manufacturing capabilities, high-quality, high-precision tire manufacturing equipment that has been put into operation in the Japanese factory and the U.S. factory of the company is used, and a unique new process (A. T. O. M) elements, through the quality inspection of the manufacturing process and automatic tire inspection devices, to achieve quality tracking management, and shorten the production cycle, reduce production processes and achieve high efficiency and high productivity. The new factory strives to create a labor environment that is highly compatible with operators. The tire production process makes full use of automation and IT technology. The workers can achieve high-quality tire production without having to master complicated skills.

At the ceremony for the completion of the new factory, Toyo Rubber President Kenji Nakajima stated in his speech that Toyo Rubber had overcome the difficulties caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and finally completed the construction of the plant as planned. Although the construction of Toyo Rubber's production base in China lags behind other companies, Toyo Rubber will use its high value-added advantage over other brands to achieve a high level of product manufacturing in Zhangjiagang.

According to forecast, with the economic growth and the development of the automobile society, by 2015, the scale of China's passenger car and light truck parts market will expand to twice the current level. In the process of the Toyo Rubber Group's efforts to build a global production and supply system, Toyo Tires Zhangjiagang Co., Ltd. will play a decisive role as the main production base for passenger cars and light truck tires in China. According to the plan, the new plant will introduce the latest production equipment, with an annual output of 2 million high-quality, high-precision tires, and strive to meet the rising demand in the Chinese market.
