On November 25, 2011, the 10th annual peak meeting of China's auto industry development was held in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. When deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers Dong Jianping spoke at the meeting, he said that self-owned vehicles are the main market for self-owned parts and components, but the use of autonomous parts and components by the vehicle is not fully utilized, and some key parts and components rely on the supply of foreign-funded enterprises. In 2010, the export value of China's spare parts industry reached US$36.6 billion. It took China 10 years to become a major exporter of auto parts. However, China's autonomous parts and components are in a weak position in the application of electronic control technology. Electronic control technology is a core technology in the aspects of safety, energy saving, emission reduction, and development of new energy vehicles in traditional automobiles. Electronic control from the technology to the components of the original import by foreign companies or monopoly by foreign companies, seriously restricting the technology upgrade of China's independent car prices and products into the high-end market. According to Dong Jianping, whether auto parts and components can keep up with the development situation and meet the needs of the entire vehicle depends on whether or not they can master the core technologies of auto parts and have the ability to innovate. In order to achieve breakthroughs in parts and components, we must seize the opportunity to use China's market and capital to achieve a full range of cooperation with foreign countries, especially European and American counterparts, in terms of technology, resources, and talents. Autonomous auto parts enterprises should review the situation, seize the opportunities, give full play to their advantages, and respond to challenges, and ultimately realize the transformation of China from a big automobile manufacturing nation to a powerful country.
